Shockwave therapy for injury.

Went to see a physio yesterday about my creaky knee. Instead of the usual massage, manipulation etc., this guy was out of Star Trek with space age gadgets.
They are not absolutely new, but seem to use lasers and high powered sound waves to induce healing within the body tissues. The first session went OK and I've got some mild pain relief. The physio is suggesting a course of treatments using these space age gadgets, but I'm being cautious. I've tried to find any clinical trials for this 'Shockwave' therapy, but most seem to be focused on longer term chronic pain - not injury to your knee!

Anyone got experience of this Shockwave / EMTT therapy?

I’ll be interested to hear how this works for you.

My physio didn’t have it. She did use red light therapy, amongst other things, on my neck. I went for the pain in my arm and she said I had a pinched nerve in my neck. All the things did work.
