Went to Costco yesterday against my husband's warnings, I needed to buy some food stuff and didn't want to waste my weekdays on food shopping. I like the weekdays much more than the weekends now that I'm retired, lol.
Anyway, the parking lot was packed, and it's a huge lot. I still had a positive attitude, thinking maybe it wouldn't be so bad in the store. Got inside, and it seemed like it was a real family affair for the shoppers. Each person pushing a cart was surrounded by family members and excitable kids. Of course they clustered around the free sample stands, making it impossible to even get through.
Lots of people were in another world, blocking the entire aisle in a daze, not aware of anyone around them who might need to see what's on the shelf or get by with their carts. Of course there were the cellphone users, who were somewhere else completely, and disregarded the world.
I was hoping that when I got to the check outs that the lines wouldn't be bad and there would be a good amount of cashiers. Well, there were a lot of cashiers, but the lines were long enough to reach into the aisles on every one. When I got back out to my car, there were people double parked, anxiously awaiting for shoppers to load their groceries and pull out of their spots, so they could use them.
When I came home rolling my eyes, hubby said 'I told you so', and I had to agree, he was right. Won't be doing that again in the near future, that's for sure!
I don't like shopping to begin with!
layful: Do you mind shopping on weekends when the traffic is heavy and the stores are packed?
