Shops I miss from years ago

Richard Shops, Woolworths, BHS. Just to name a few. There is nostalgia about shops from years ago that I never thought would disappear.

In the UK which shops do you remember, gone forever.
I don't miss Woolies, because it went steadily downhill for years before it closed down.

Richard shops.. Dolcis, Saxone, BHS.. to name just a few, are what I miss

I like C&A which is a Dutch company that had clothing stores in the UK. Although it's gone from the UK, it's still in many European cities. I was in two German C&A stores last week. Mrs.L likes them and buys a lot of her clothes there. There was also a Woolworth store that was like an explosion in a junk shop. Not sure if this has connection with the old F W Woolworth.

I remember BHS and Littlewoods in Aberdeen. They've been largely demolished and only the facade remains.

I recognize quite a few familiar names of stores mentioned here.
Stores that closed that I miss where I live: Pier1 Imports, Burdines, Bed Bath and Beyond.

yes Littlewoods..it was such a huge wondrous store when I was little.. and I'd go with my friends' mum and dad on a Saturday morning to Sauchiehall street...

WE have C&A at our local Mall in Spain

Not to forget the DIY stores like Dodge City, FADS, MFI etc.. and possibly Wilko - not sure what's happening with it.
Wilko has been rubbish for years..low stock, prices high for poor quality..In many towns they have alreaddy been re-opened as the Range... ...

I miss Fads.. good prices for Paint and painting tools... also Texas.. and MFI

Miss going to the local RadioShack store for everything electronic or to ask a question about my 'Trash 80'
computer.

Seems they went the way of the Payphone...

Owen Owens, T J Hughes, Costigans, Irwins, Maypole, Debenhams... there are probably hundreds more.

From around all the places I've been, these are the ones I remember off the top of my noggin... Outwith of UK to begin with...

Caplan's (retailer)
LaSalle (retailer)
Larousse or Larocque (retailer)
Pascal's retailers
Ponderosa Steakhouse
Hockey Subs (had to change recipes to make subs healthier options, people didn't like it, so they closed down...)
The Keg
Woolworths
Kresge became K-Mart they've disappeared...
Red Lobster
Zellers
Sears Canada and Simpson-Sears USA, also Towers and Eaton's stores
Steinberg, AL Raymond and Dominion grocery stores
Recently found out Giant Tiger Bargains Retailers
Greenberg (retailer had the most gorgeous faux fur coats, I still have mine from round 1987)
Freeman's and Ogilvy's
IP Looneys
Red Barn burgers
Dunkin Donuts (gone from Ontario, don't know of other places)
Loblaws groceries in the Province of Quebec, Canada
Cicero's pizza place which was close to Ottawa Fair at Lansdowne park (the fair's gone as well)
The jewellers where we bought our wedding rings (something about selling wrong kind of diamonds in the 2000s) I was told this by friend in email, so don't know the real story.

Four major shopping centres revamped due to retailers gone. Drive-in cinema places.

One in particular is a different story altogether. Subway restaurants had a very different menu in the 80s. It really isn't the same now. Similar situation with KFC. The name changed and loads of menu items changed.

In UK, HomeBase, two others, which brand name's missing one for bed and bath the other for everything else. Comet retailer plus the Bed Shed. Toys R Us.

I'm positive my list is missing more but that's what here for now 🙃

UPDATE: Just as I completed this post, went to check browser and found this list of 52 stores gone from our childhood... Seriously?
The Iconic Stores You Grew up With That Are No Longer Around
