Should God answer your prayers?

What type of chaos would be created if you truly had the ear of God and He acted upon your prayers?

I had to change my answer I originally wrote. It's something I should reveal to just one or 2 people I know. Not to people all over the world.

"Should God answer your prayers?" How they are answered is up to him. I often wonder why some Christians die from a tornado, when praying for safety during the storm, but there is a verse that says "The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all." [Ecclesiastes 2:14] Believers aren't insulated from the misfortunes of life. If that were the case, all would go well only for those of faith.

I tried that. Then I left the Catholic Church.

Doc, it is easy to laugh. Church dues were automatically deducted from my pay check with the options catholic/protestant.

No, that's not his job like he's our own personal assistant. Sometimes he ignores our prayers because only he knows what is best for us. Praying is to honor God and sometimes just knowing he listening is enough

I hope he answers my prayers, but I may never know. I usually pray for those that are about to leave us behind, so their soul may go straight to Heaven.

You mean "should God grant us our wishes", right? I pray for forgiveness, for the well being of myself and loved ones. I'm not expecting an "answer" per se. I don't gauge my prayer efforts as successful or a failure, God will do as His will dictates.

I don’t believe that God answers prayers.

I believe that God gives us the tools to find our own answers if we pray/think deeply about the things that trouble us.

Sorry folks we are in charge of our own destiny. There is a sense of empathy and compassion remembering someone in prayer whether god exists or not. Prayer is a proclamation that goes out in love and consideration.
