Should I drop my doctor?

Ok, so I was ready to go to surgery and the doctor stopped by in pre-op. She could not find the cyst! And she did locate it only 4 days ago. Going to have another mri next week to see what happened rather than cutting and searching. And to add to this: I prayed for the cyst to disappear just this week Wednesday.

Here is the latest and hopefully final update. After the MRI that did indeed show a much smaller cyst, my orthopedic surgeon does not believe this is cancer. This second MRI was on a newer machine and better quality, and taken from a more proper position. But to be sure, I will have another MRI in a month. Given the months that have elapsed and no cancer found in the biopsy even if it was not 100% conclusive, things are looking good. My surgeon believes that some sort of trauma to the leg may have caused this cyst to form. It would be nice not to have to operate as the full recovery could be quite lengthy.

My wife's sister is a doctor. She has always advised us that if possible, we should consult two or even three doctors to verify the diagnosis. Their opinions often differ. My wife and I also have skin problems and will be treating them soon. We consulted with our sister and two doctors, and their opinions agreed on the diagnosis, but what to do and how to treat differed markedly.

Glad your interactions with your doctors are getting better.

I did finally drop this doctor. I was scheduled for an annual checkup and wanted to have a blood test for my PSA level included with the visit. After many days there was no response. But when I cancelled the appointment, then they responded. Just not acceptable. Found another doctor, closer to home.
