Auctioneer Charles Hanson described the yellow floral item as 'very sacred, very important and very rare'

Unbeknown to the owner, it had been in his house, in his loft for over 50 years.'

The expert went on to reveal that the ewer was 'only one of three known', with the other two in museums in Taiwan and Beijing.
