Show us your childhood photos

Browsing through my photo gallery I discovered this photo taken at my first (2nd?) Christmas. I was a very lucky girl to be in Sydney during WW II. My dad was serving in the 2nd AIF in New Guinea and Mum and I were living with Mum's widowed father and two unmarried aunties at that time.

I'd love to see early photos of other members of this forum with some explanation of the setting or occasion.

there's incredibly few photos of us kids as children.... and those there are were for show of the visitors trying to prove we were a normal family.. we'd be given a ball on the day, to play with, for the photos...the ball would be taken from us when the visitors left.... equally our new clothes we'd get for the visitors..., so those photos we did have taken were of little children who didn't know how to smile

This was my brother and I playing with the aforesaid ball, I was 3 he was 2... the houses were new builds after the end of the war.., and we'd apparently just moved in... hence all the bricks & mud and clay in the gardens

I had this one colourised in MY heritage... but we weren't used to having our photo taken, and so when my father demanded by baby brother look up...he did so literally.. and that is the only photo that exists..
