PURCELL, Okla. – An Oklahoma man said he was beaten black and blue by a Purcell police officer.
Chris Barger said he was dropping off a friend at an apartment complex when a police officer pulled over and shone a spotlight through his window.
“I just started screaming for someone to help me, and he began hitting me even harder and faster,” Barger said.
Barger suffered a broken nose and severe bruising after the incident Monday night.
It began when he was sitting in his car at 7[SUP]th[/SUP] and Taylor.
“He begins to shine his light in my car window repeatedly and, after a while, I decided maybe I should get out of the vehicle and ask the officer what the problem is,” Barger said.

There are always two sides to a story. Lately, it has become beneficial to them, I suspect, for media reporters to slant stories against the cop when possible. That's currently what the public seems to want, if Trump's popularity is any indicator. imp

why is that a mistake?

Here's what happened once, to me. A cop pulled me over, I was alone, the driver was a lady cop, a male cop rode as her passenger. She was striding toward my car as I got out to talk to her. Immediately, the guy in the car began blaring on a bullhorn that I must immediately get back in the car. Could've heard him a block away. I got back in, the lady came to my window, and I asked her what was the guy's problem? She apologized, saying she was in training, I asked why she pulled me over. Cracked windshield, get it fixed. Clearly, she had pulled me over for practice. No ticket, no further discourse. I drove on, the guy in the car never got out.

I did not answer your question, however. IMO, if I were a cop, and conditions, no traffic, quiet, private area, I would PREFER the pulled over driver exited and came toward me. A cop peering into a vehicle with a seated driver has no idea what that person may have waiting for him. Police methods sometimes elude me. imp
