I posted sometime back that my SIL was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through chemotherapy and is now cancer-free. To celebrate, she married her long-time boyfriend last December and hubby and I were the witnesses (me on the left and him on the right). It was such a joyous time.

Now it seems she is suffering debilitating arthritis as a result of the chemo and is barely able to walk. The doctors have not given her a good prognosis. She is only 57 y/o. We have a family trip scheduled in a couple of weeks to spend time with her. Please send all of that positive SF love our way!

I remember this photo.. I remember thinking how beautiful she looked after enduring such a terrible time... so I'm really saddened to hear she's suffering such pain after winning the fight of her life... I wish her everything she , her husband and you her wonderful friends wish for her, for the arthritis to calm down and let her live the life she so deserves

Absolutely sending lots of positive thoughts.

How to best mitigate, manage symptoms will depend on what kind specifically and where she feels it most. But she should discuss with doctor and if very severe and restricting activities maybe get referral to a specialist or at least see if there are support groups in her area for fellow sufferers. I would bet there are ones online.

There are nutritional changes can help, also some topical meds for really bad days-- but depends on factors i mentioned. In my hands it started in my 50s. But with age it has moved to other joints, usually ones i've injured some way. Have only had one broken bone in my life but have had impacts to joints that strained all surrounding tendons. For some 3 decades after injuring right knee i could predict rain based on intensity of it aching.

And she should look for ways to de-stress (sometimes hard in today's world) because as with all health issues stress a huge factor in both development and the severity.

Sorry to hear about her difficulties.😒

I hope that you'll be able to bring her some smiles to cheer her and/ or simply the emotional support .
I'm sure the time will be valuable no matter what.
Though we all hope for better days for her.
