What time do you go to bed every night,do you wake up at the same time in the morning?
I stay up until midnight Mon-Fri to watch my favorite show on MSNBC'The 11th Hour with Brian Williams"{long time fan of his}.In morning I wake up around 6-6:15a
On the weekends, its different,if there is nothing interesting on TV,I usually in bed around 10pm.
I didn't sleep well Sun night, was tired yesterday, started to doze around 10pm,stayed awake for most of BW's show
This morning,I woke up around 2:30,rolled over went back to sleep. When I woke up,it was 7:15,I never sleep this late LOL,feel more refreshed Sue

Normally I'm in bed by 8:30 p.m. and up around 4:00 a.m. which was my schedule for 31 years prior to retiring.....old habits die hard I guess.

I'm usually in bed by 8:00 pm up around 2:00 am sometimes a second sleep from 5:00 am till 7:00 am and usually a nap from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm.

I can still stay up and keep a normal schedule when I need to but I don't need to very often and I'm thankful for that.

I enjoy sleeping and I'm good at it, LOL!!!

A schedule for sleeping???
Yeah RIGHT? :lofl:

NOT!

I had a bit chocolate yesterday and was up almost the entire night.
That’ll teach me.

NOT!

Since my wife is still working a full-time job, and has to be at work at 8:30AM, we generally go to bed between 10-10:30PM and get up at 6:45AM. We both wake up at least once during the night to go to the bathroom.

On Saturdays, since wife only works Mon thru Fri, we will get up around 8AM to go out for breakfast. If we can get either of our favorite breakfast restaurants before 9AM, we don't have to wait around and be seated. Not many people get up here on weekends at 8AM. If we don't go out for breakfast on Sunday, I'll still be up by 7AM, but will let my wife sleep in until around 9:30AM. There are times, especially during the hot/humid summer months here, that we will take a 2-hour nap in the afternoon, sometimes on both Saturday and Sunday.

One thing for sure, neither of us sleep as good as we did years ago (when we were younger).

For a while I did have a schedule for sleeping but it’s a bit difficult because my husband works shift work which has an impact on my sleeping routine somewhat. I envy people who can stick to a regular sleep schedule. Luckily I don’t need a lot of sleep cause I don’t get a lot of it.

Usually...In bed by 11:pm wake up 9:am . My sleep 'habits' have changed gradually as I have aged. Seldom get up for a bladder call...but it is the first order of business in the morning.

I was an early riser when I worked 5:30am . But since I do not need to any longer...my body/mind just awakens when it does, and that is later .

It doesn't matter what time you go to bed or what time you wake up.

If you are rested and refreshed you are doing the right thing.

That's the way i always felt....But all the "experts" just have to tell us what to do.

I don't sleep well at all which is partly my fault. I go to bed at 10pm,read untill 12AM or 1AM. I know I shouldn't read in bed.If I'm lucky I fall asleep around 2 or 3 AM because my legs and bad knee bother me and I have acid reflux and I have to worry about things. If not asleep by then I take a quarter of an Ambien. Bad stuff but it works well for me. No hangover like some people get from it. I wake up between 8:30 and 9AM have coffee and two eggs and I'm good to go for the whole day. No nap.

Yep. I'm a night owl so I'm always up until 2 a.m. or thereabouts. I usually sleep until 9 or sometimes 10; I'm retired so I can do it my way. :D

<grin> sometimes when I sleep in, say 10:am.....I @ first get angry with myself....then I think....what's the diff?...and plug the coffee in.

I was never a nap person until I had my partial right knee surgery in 2004.
After lunch,I take a 10-15min 'sr nap' before I take my last walk of the day.
I'm a side sleeper, but can sleep for awhile on my back.
When I retired,it did take me 6- 8months not to get up at 5:45a on the days I had to be at work, when I started at 7

TV off at 10:00pm. and I read until ll:00pm. On a good night I am up 3 times for bathroom, on a bad night
I can be up every hour. I have taken several kinds of meds. for my frequent bathroom trips; but they are
not very effective. I do have sleeping pills which I take and they help, but I am afraid to depend on them.
I nap in the afternoon for 30-45 mins. On a bad night I will get up, get a drink of juice or water and sit
in the livingroom for 15-20 mins., then I can (sometimes) go to sleep.

^ @ Jujube, but even so, I would like to get to sleep a bit earlier than 4am. Darn chest congestion is keeping me up. Well at least I'm catching up during the day didn't get out of bed till after 4pm

Sleep is critical and I worked long and hard to get what works for me.

I got rid of cable and tv period. I spent so much time watching so much senseless tv and don't miss it all and love the money in my pocket vs cable co.

For me its:

8:30 PM
1 mg melatonin

9:30PM
500 mg inositol
500 mg gaba
500 mg tryptophan & 50mg B6 (P5P form)

10:30 or thereabouts head hits pillow and I'm gone pretty quickly.

For me I take 2 Ibuprofen for OA that just will not go away.

Sleep pretty good all night...get out of bed about 8AM or so.

AprilT -- taking grape seed extract would probably or possibly get rid of congesion.

Tryptophan could/would get you back to sleep...get into the habit of taking it. I noted it in my post above on what I take for sleep.

The Spousal Equivalent and I have radically different sleep patterns. He goes to bed religiously at 9:30, not a moment later. My bedtime will range from midnight to two or three am. He's out of bed at 6:00...….well, let's say the early birds have definitely cleaned out the worm supply before I "chose" to rise. But then, I prefer my cereal without worms.

What this does is give us some "me" time. His "me" time is in the a.m.....mine is anytime after 9:30 pm. He can get up and watch his news shows to his heart's content (they make my blood pressure rise) and I can watch my movies in the late night. I think it's what keeps us getting along.
