Slept terribly last night, had a very disturbing lucid dream

It involved something evil in my house and it was choking me with a black snake, I kept trying to wake up and when I did I would fall asleep immediately and back into the dream, this went on for awhile.

I will not read a story about possession again!

I should check my neck for any signs!

For goodness sake......stop worrying about everything....
deep breaths, a Popsicle, and a trip to the bank.....then treat yourself to a good book, not a scary one.

That was a lucid dream? You actually controlled it, and that's what you chose to dream about?

Or do you mean "lucid" in the sense of its being crystal-clear and vivid?

I hope its the latter ... :cower:

In classical Freudian dream analysis, being choked by a black snake indicates a lack of chocolate in your waking hours.

Eat more chocolate and I guarantee the dreams will stop. :D

Advert break.........part 2

As she swung her lithe, white legs over the rumpled bedclothes she suddenly stopped in mid-motion: something in the far corner, that dark, foreboding intersection of plaster walls, had smacked its lips.

Frozen with fear, trembling, she slowly extended her feet to the floor, then stopped yet again: there in the dim light of the moon streaking in through the leaded-glass windows, she saw them.

The mousetraps.

They had been sprung, but there were no bodies.

And the cheese bait was gone ...

"Manducare caseum, manducare caseum, manducare caseum ..."

The chanting had begun just then, seemingly far away yet close, as if it were a lost group of Gregorian monks fulfilling their destiny ...

"Manducare caseum, manducare caseum, manducare caseum ..."

The sound filled her head, throbbing, taking on a life of its own. Somehow it seemed vaguely familiar ...

"Manducare caseum, manducare caseum, manducare caseum ..."

Suddenly she recalled her childhood Latin classes, and knew all at once, and too late, what the dire chant meant.

"Manducare caseum, manducare caseum, manducare caseum ..."

... "Eat the cheese" ...

When I dream, which is once or twice a week that I remember them, I dream of getting lost, being lost, in large cities and small, in buildings, hospitals. I do get lost easily.

I have very vivid dreams; sometimes lucid, and I will deliberately wake myself up from the nightmarish ones. Like drifter, I used to dream a lot about being lost..usually in a huge old building where I was looking for a family member or friend. As I search, the rooms keep looking older; paint peeling off walls, etc. Sometimes the people peer out of doorways at me, and look like mutants...I am increasingly apprehensive. I never should have watched Jacob's Ladder.

I'd rather dream about cheese.....

ETA: CeeCee, have you read Stephen King's 'IT'?? I slept with my bed lamp on for a week. ;)

Well, as Freud said, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar . . . "

... said the man who came up with the hotly debated Psychosexual Theory ...

... and probably just loved his mother a little too much ...

... and gave the world a wonderful new scam known as "The Talking Cure". :playful:
