Smart phone only way to enter Optus stadium Perth

Thousands of everyday people will no longer be able to attend Optus Stadium because they do not own a smart phone.
Downloaded tickets have been scrapped. No smart phone, no entry.
Most organisations care little for senior citizens, move with the times or stand aside.
Surely it is time for those overpaid pollies to stand up for their constituents and mandate a percentage of tickets be allocated for those who want nothing to do with the all-encompassing technology.
It can be done; mandates are applied for new builds regarding affordable and social housing.
What it shows me is that senior citizens are no longer valued and a huge portion of society would rather that seniors stay locked away in their homes.

I am not sure what you want the government to do about it - Optus stadium is privately owned by the AFL and as such they set conditions of entry.
Nearly all patrons would have smart phones though or be attending with somebody who does.

I haven’t seen that here but we do have an increasing number of cash free venues where you can only gain admittance, purchase food drink and souvenirs with a credit card or some sort of ewallet iPhone tap’n’pay.

I think the bottom line is if the venue fills up with more sophisticated tech savvy fans and there is no legal challenge to equal access then it will become business as usual.

Personally, I wouldn’t go near a 60,000 seat arena for any reason.

I would much rather watch a sporting event in a cozy local pub, only a few steps from the loo. 😉🤭😂
