Snooker fan. Does anyone play or enjoy watching.

I used to be an avid snooker fan and was a daily attender at the Welsh Open but I seem to have drifted away from the game .
I briefly played and have a highest break of three.
Been fortunate to be present at a Ronnie O’ Sullivan 147 and I saw his first ever appearance at the Welsh Open when he must have been 16.
He lost to Neal Foulds.

I scored six against Silvino Francisco at Butlins Holiday Camp.

I love snooker, even watched before coloured TV. :)
oooh we watched it many years ago.. even when we were kids with B&W as you say... I have no interest in Snooker today.. but the glory days of Ray Reardon.. Steve Davis, Jimmy white.. Alex higgins, Willie Thorne et al...... fabulous...

I never played Snooker but I was the county ladies Billiard Champion...

Welcome to the forum..wherabouts are you in the UK...?

John Spencer once came to our British Legion Club where he demonstrated some fantastic 'trick' shots.
Me being in the clubs snooker team got to play John.
He gave me a 40 point start and beat me 96 points to 41, not my finest hour. 😊

41 points is not to be sneezed at... well done Tim.... I'd forgotten completely about John Spencer...

Thank you hollydolly, live in Norfolk.

I loved playing snooker in my younger days.
The small town I grew up in hall a pool hall with 10? large snooker tables. Spent many hours potting those balls. :)
Very much enjoyed "Pot Black" on television.
Ray Reardon, Eddie Charlton, Cliff Thorburn, Steve Davis.

I've played billiards in my lifetime but never Snooker. I just watched some videos on the rules of the game. It looks interesting but I've never seen it on my free antenna TV.

Isn't there a version that has no pockets, just bumpers?

Love watching it on TV, but a hour at a time is enough. One exception was the late night World championship final where Denis Taylor came from behind to beat Steve Davis in a black ball final. Most of the UK must have been awake and watching that one.
One of the greatest sporting moments. Still the biggest post-midnight TV audience recorded in the United Kingdom, 18.5 million people.
