Snow, Snow, Snow, the new four letter word

Here we go yet again, another storm in Metro NY. It appears they underestimated its power as it appears we are going to have more than a foot on the ground by tomorrow morning 6:00 A.M.

I knew we were going to get hit this year, but never expected anything like this. I just came back in a while ago after shoveling the front stairs which had about 6-7 inches in the middle and 2 ft drifts on the sides by the railing. I then shoveled the sidewalk from the apartment to our main walk and because none of the snow has melted from our very first in December, we have mounds approximately 4 ft high on both sides of the sidewalk.

I actually chose to stay home from work today and from the looks of it may have to tomorrow also. We're getting another 3 to 6 inches tonight so it will take me (age 67) quite a while to clean my car and shovel around it.

We're getting hammered over here in PA as well, Logics. The new stuff is falling on top of the old stuff, there's a thick sheet of ice underneath from the zero-degree weather we've been having and I'm still having a war of will with the landlord - he has it in the lease that HE is responsible for shoveling and clearing walkways, but he isn't doing it, and I refuse to, so now to come up the front path you're actually walking on about 8" of compacted ice and snow.

I feel for you all. My city has been declared in a state of emergency. Worst winter storm in ten years. National Guard called in to help. I can't even get outside to the mailbox. I am almost out of groceries too, my fault for not going to the store before the storm.

It's hot is parts of Australia but ............... in North America, as many of you know first hand:

Where's the snow? On the ground in 49 of 50 states

Not quite so bad in Bolivia .... isn't Bolivia near the Equator?

Cold Wave Kills 6 Million Fish in Eastern Bolivia

LA PAZ – Authorities in the eastern Bolivian province of Santa Cruz declared an alert following the death of 6 million fish from the unusually cold weather gripping the country in recent weeks.

The provincial government said the fish died in the Grande, Pirai and Ichilo rivers that run through the tropical region.

This is an “environmental catastrophe” brought on by the lowest temperatures registered in Santa Cruz in nearly half a century, Gov. Ruben Costas told reporters.

He said that environmental personnel who visited the disaster areas found that the three rivers are highly polluted by dead fish, and he warned locals not to use those waters.

He said that his administration will send equipment to the towns on the banks of those rivers to supply the inhabitants with drinking water and prevent a public health disaster.

Costas also announced that in the coming days he will order a closed season for fishing in the tributaries and also for hunting, with the goal of progressively “repopulating” the fauna of the region.

The cold wave that gripped the Southern Cone of South America last month caused a severe drop in temperatures in southern and eastern Bolivia, even falling below 0 C (32 F) in areas where the thermometer is usually above 20 C (68 F).

Bolivia’s weather service has announced that a new cold front will enter the southern and eastern parts of the country this week. EFE

1350+ Peer-Reviewed Papers Supporting Skeptic Arguments Against ACC/AGW Alarm

http://www.populartechnology.net/2009/10/peer-reviewed-papers-supporting.html

I'm tired of this cold weather, I'm tired of the hail storms in summer. My insurance company said they would not renew my auto insurance because my local agent no longer represents their company. They also have my house insurance. They did not cancel it but raised my premiums by seventy-five percent. What's wrong with these people? Don't they know I'm busy and have other things to do. Sometime I remind myself of Job in the bible and you all know what happened to him:

When his life was ruined, his family killed, his farm destroyed, Job knelt down on the ground and yelled up to the heavens, "Why god? Why me?" and the thundering voice of God answered, There's just something about you that pisses me off.” ― Stephen King, Storm of the Century: An Original Screenplay
