"Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly been “uninvited” to a state reception hosted by the King Charles on Sunday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to have received an invitation earlier this week for the grand event at Buckingham Palace.
The gathering, which will see foreign VIPs meet on the eve of Her Majesty’s funeral, is set to be the largest of world leaders in modern history.
But palace officials have reportedly insisted it is for working royals only, and aides insist Meghan, 41, and Harry, 38, are unlikely to attend," The Telegraph reports. Better link to The Express

No surprise there then.. it'll also mean Prince Andrew won't attend either..

Just who in blazes are these "palace officials" anyway?

How do they get to dictate how this woman's funeral will go.?

As shameful as her children and grandchildren's antics have been, they are her close family!

Now, if the queen herself ordered they should not attend her funeral, that's different.

Harry and Andrew served during wartime even. They, for that reason alone, should be wearing their military uniforms.

It's Charles who has the last say ... Andrew and Harry will be there .. as will Meghan and in fact Fergie.. they're no longer working royals so on Sunday the night before the funeral they will not be representing the Monarchy when the heads of state of many countries arrive and are greeted by The King, and the prince and Princess of Wales..

Oh.

I just watched on YouTube the grandchildren arrival to “guard” the Catafalque. Harry had on a uniform. After all, he is a veteran of actual military service.
They all stood perfectly still with their eyes appearing closed! Amazing poise.
And the endurance of British is beyond awesome, standing in miles long lines for hours and hours! Manners. Consideration for one another! Determination!

They shouldn't feel too bad, I wasn't invited either. And I have never made any public statements negative about the Royal family!
the fact is..that if anyone snubbed anyone.. it was H&M who snubbed the royal family and caused such distress with the lies they told in interviews I wouldn't be at all surprised if it hastened the Queen's death...

Yet Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan are invited?

@Geezerette I watched the grandchildren on YouTube, but not live.

Last night I was watching at about 3-4 AM London time. It appeared they had two lines of people on each side. Perhaps trying to get people through faster. I don't know how they are enduring those wait times.
the 2 lines were extra lines to join the main queue... last night the Queue time had risen to 16 hours

I Think this may be a little harsh I have to admit.. but only insiders know exactly how much the Queen was hurt by Harry and his wife.. so that might be the reason they've taken this stance..

Prince Harry has reportedly been left 'devastated' and after the Queen's 'ER' initials were removed from the shoulder of his military uniform as he held vigil by her coffin - after Prince Andrew was allowed to keep the royal cypher.

The Duke of Sussex, 38, is said to have considered wearing a morning suit to avoid embarrassment as the monarch's eight grandchildren carried out a sombre guard of honour inside Westminster Hall last night.

William and Harry, both dressed in military uniform, stood at either end of their grandmother's coffin. They were joined by cousins Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, and Lady Louise Windsor and her brother Viscount Severn.

Harry, who saw action on the front line during two tours of duty in Afghanistan, had previously been prevented from wearing military uniform this week as he is no longer a working royal.

He was granted permission by King Charles to wear the livery for the vigil inside the Palace of Westminster.

However, the Duke of Sussex is understood to have been devastated to find his grandmother's initials had been stripped from the shoulder of his uniform, The Sunday Times reports. The initials were not removed from Prince William's uniform.

Harry's despair is understood to largely centre around Prince Andrew, who is also no longer a working royal, having retained the initials on his vice-admiral’s uniform as the Queen's children held a vigil on Friday night.

The Duke of Sussex was a Personal Aide de Camp of the Queen and, as a result, had previously worn the cypher. But it was among the posts he resigned when he stepped down from royal duties and moved to California.

The 'ER' initials are traditionally only worn by those 'in service' of the monarch, and so the absence of the cypher is thought to be down to dress regulations as opposed to a direct snub of the prince.

But such was his despair, Harry is said to have considered wearing a morning suit as they were leaving in order to avoid the embarrassment last night.

A friend told the newspaper: 'He is heartbroken. To remove his grandmother’s initials feels very intentional.'

What I learned from watching, "The Crown," was that through three monarchies, Tommy Lascelles ruled the world. He was the private secretary to whomever was on the throne. He passed away early in Queen Elizabeth's reign, but before that he was always telling her what she could and couldn't do.

I don't know who does it now, but I imagine it's pretty much the same. These secretaries know the constitution and traditions inside and out and see to it that all is done properly and according to regulations.

I think that is probably true, it was awful.

What possible motivation do you think Harry and what's her name had for this? It seems an irrational thing to do, even if you really believed it.

Over the years I have had a number of complaints about some of my family members, but have almost always kept them to myself. After the feeling past I was glad I had.

Here I am doing what I said I never would do, gossiping about the Royals...
