:love_heart::love_heart::love_heart: It's the little things that make you love someone. Two things with Callie when we adopted him. The first was he didn't know how to play. He was an adult when he found us. It's possible he was just out as a guard dog and not a pet. We tried tennis balls, sticks, stuffed toys and he was totally puzzled. What is that and what do you want me to do? Empty soda bottles made him happy to gnaw on, but interactive games? Nothing. It took almost a year, he learned to play tug of war with Sophie and then the humans. Then she taught him tennis balls..." Look they throw a ball, you grab it and parade in front of the humans, they laugh and give you some good lovin', here try it".
The other challenge was with a flop eared dog you have to clean them ears or they get nasty. Sophie has always been submissive about it. But once again maybe having his ears touched wasn't something familiar. The first year or so it took two people holding him and a third cleaning really quick or he'd back up and make a run for it. A few minutes ago I got the jar of cleaning pads. Sophie first and then him. He just laid there, not real pleased but just a half eyed okay I guess you gotta do this face. They both got their meaty bones after. But isn't it beautiful how you can turn the right dog around?:love_heart::love_heart::love_heart:
