So, Where are the Night Owls Tonight? It's 2:15 am Here.

I'm weird...up around 6:30 to feed the birds and check you folks out, take a nap around 7 pm till 9:30, then up till 2:30 am. It works though, get to be both a nite owl and an early bird!
You seem to get a few hours of sleep there, I hope that is working good for you. I think we all have to find a balance that makes us feel "still alive."

Yes, always had a lot of energy. Napping is good so do mediate for 35-40 minutes a
day and probably "nod off" during the late night TV watching. For so many years had to get up so early to go to work so its a real treat in retirement to not have deadlines or schedules that take first priority. Last night the priority was "Columbo"...although I do confess to nodding off a bit...lol.

How did we ever find time to work is what I'd like to know.

Neither wife nor I have been "night owls". Although, due to one certain Watch that I stood in the Navy, a Sailor had to be somewhat of a "night owl", The Watch was from 11:45PM to 3:45AM.

I spent numerous years working from 7AM to 3:30PM, and for my last job at that time, I had to get up at 5:15AM.

Now, that we are both retired, our bedtime is generally 10 to 10:30PM.. My automatic wake-up time seems to be always between 6 and 7AM. Unless we need to be somewhere early, like going to Dunkin Donuts for coffee, my wife will sleep in until 9AM.

So, the "night owl" hours definitely isn't us!

Actually, have to add this: Our next door neighbor was a bartender and the noise he'd make when he came home was darn near unbearable. The walls in these apartments are fairly thin and his kitchen/laundry was right next to our master bedroom. Anyone would think "he knows he lives in an apartment and someone lives next to him, so why does he need to be so loud?" We told the manager about the noise, she put a Notice on his door, he went to her office and said "I'm sorry" and then, the very next night, he'd come home and make all kinds of noise again.

When we seen him outside, I asked him if he knew where our bedroom was. He said "yes, right there". I then asked him, "do you know how much noise you make when you come home from work?". He said, "I really thought the walls were thicker than they are." He also said, "my brother was over last night and I knew we were getting loud, but."

So, Bottom Line here is.........."being a night owl" is fine when living in a house, but when living in an apartment and waking others up...........

I usually go to bed between 9 and 10 since those were necessitated by work when I did work, and there is nothing good on TV anyway that I could not record. I got up at 3 AM this morning and had breakfast then lied down and slept till 7. That's too much sack time really. It would be nice if we could program our bodies.
