Sobering Realization I Just Saw... Seems Impossible

i know it's absolutely horrifying... time has just gone sooo fast... I was 19 in '74, in exactly 4 weeks from now Septemeber 23rd 1974 I moved here to England...

I often think... here I am at 69.. I might have 20 years left.. 20 years.. think about that ...it's such a short time...

The last 20 years seems like 5 years ago.. I mean, tonight I was looking at a video I made which is on Youtube... ( private Vid)... and I made that video 3 or 4 years ago.. 5 max.... I thought... when I looked at the date on the video, I'd made it in 2008 ...16 years ago !!.. horrified at how fast time has gone..

We are The Elders now.
😲
Way to cheer us up, @hearlady ! 🤭

Yeah, I've been there, too... I so clearly remember the day my daughter said, "Oh, Mama! The last Civil War veteran died in 1956 and that's just a year before you were born!":oops:
I was born in the mid 50's... when my daughter was at school, she'd been learning in science class about electricity etc... and she came home one day straight-faced and very seriously said... ''Mum, did they have electricity in the cave when you were little '' ?

When I remind her of that now.. she retorts ''Well did they '' ?... cheeky minx....:ROFLMAO:

Huh? I dunno where you were, but at UofM we had changed over almost everything to mainframe computers in 1958. The computers were reel-to-reel and in their own multi-story building.
Bet you had a heck of a time taking those home every night. :p

I was more referring to the personal computer that's ubiquitous today. In 1958, Bill Gates didn't even have the dream to have one in every house yet.

I had been married for 17 years in 1974. Today we have been married 67 years and the time went by so fast it's like a blur! Our youngest child is now 63, he recently moved in with us because he knew we really needed the help, and he has been a huge help to us. We are so lucky!

they certainly were.. and in the Punch tape typing pool where I was a junior in 1970..... the room next to it was the computer room.. they kept the Roneo Printing machine in there as well, and it was my job as the office junior to do all the messy printing,

so I was always fascinated to see what was going on in the Computer room.

the Computers were Massive.. and only the men were allowed to programme them
