Not for me... My son and I got a $30 a month increase for the 2.5% COLA, so combined that is about $60 a month, and our rent went up from $1,138 to $1,279 a month, a $141 increase. So we have to pay $40.50 each more per month than last year. But like I told my son, "Yes that seems like a lot of money. But it's only $42.63 a day. We couldn't even get a crappy hotel room for that."For seniors who rent, COLA = MIRA (Monthly Increased Rent Adjustment)
One really big plus is that the air conditioner is central air, and all we have to pay for is the fan. So our electric bill is only $150 in the summer and about $75 in the winter. Since we live in the Mojave Desert, winter weather here is like summer weather up in Eureka, minus high amount of the rain.
