Social and cultural upheaval

You can't get consensus all the time. So what you're left with is simple respect for the individual. Different opinions are a good thing, it's part of how we learn. If we all thought alike, we'd be a very different place. But right-fighting is useless, because it rarely achieves anything. There is also a difference between discussing something, sharing views, and "winning" an argument. I think the board is about the former. We exchange views, but ultimately, given any topic, ought to be old enough to be able to accept that our own opinion is just that, and others can have valid reasons to feel differently.

Still, some topics are obviously more touchy than others: Healthcare, Guns, politics, religion, and apparently now, abortion. This is my list of "never discuss with an American" topics. :D
You know why you should never discuss those topics with Americans? Because Americans are more likely to question your illogical hypotheses and argue back. If you want someone who'll just nod, smile politely and walk quickly away, better try someone else.

Do you have any ideas on who is making the plan? I know of this theory, and I can't figure it out. The Bilderberg Group? The 1%?
The WEF? The deep state? The military industrial complex? Whoever is really running this world? Any guess would have some measure of validity.

Oh boy, some people can't let the hostility drop. That's 100% inaccurate, and it stands to reason given what I'd written, that even discussing why it's not a good idea would be more trouble than it's worth. I have no idea why you have jumped to the conclusion you state, but it's likely some grudge you have based on the recent debate. I've said I won't discuss that topic here again, can we just move on and accept we're different people, with different ideas? If you want to feel superior I'll let you have it, be superior. I'm just too dumb to discuss such things. I hate being challenged, because I'm too ignorant and ill-informed. Whatever you say. Happy?

This is what's sad to me. We're so divided now over issues. I believe that was the plan all along because together, united, we would have the strength and numbers to change things for the better.
There's only so much you can go back and forth with a brick wall who just dismisses any disagreement with him as emotional even while he's emotional. I had to put him on ignore.
