I will never forget that episode of All in the Family where Archie and his son-in-law argue about the right way to put on socks and shoes. Hysterical episode!
I'm a sock and a sock person.

I hate to say it, but for once I agree with Archie! I'm a sock and a sock, then a shoe and a shoe person too!

That was truly an iconic scene. I agree with Archie however I always wear socks or footies at home so it's shoes, sneaks or whatever works for me at the time.

That show had good writers.

I still remember that scene too, but according to one of those film clips where they interview the actors after the fact as they talk about the show,, the writers never wrote that. It was an ad lib where Archie and Meathead just grabbed the reigns and ran off on their own having their own little bit fun. And of course, it was too good to cut out of the final edit.
