Solving and who will pay for homelessness

There are tens of thousands of people out there who, like me, have two college degrees but who still live in poverty, eat on bread lines, and get some of their food in food banks. It would take too long to explain my history but all that is not relevant here. The problem is the wealth gap caused by decades of policies that enrich the wealthy and make the poor poorer.

The ratio increased in every decade since 1980, reaching 12.6 in 2018, an increase of 39%. Not only is income inequality rising in the U.S., it is higher than in other advanced economies. Jan 9, 2020 https://www.pewresearch.org/social-trends/2020/01/09/trends-in-income-and-wealth-inequality/
Please don't get me wrong. I am most likely ignorant. But you still have enough means to have a laptop and post on SF. I'm not questioning your status in life at all. Just curious as to how you are able to do this?

Have discussed this on the cheapskate thread ~ saving every last cent that i could, living in subsidized housing, buying clothes at thrift shops, taking advantage of freebies, etc

I was planning on going to a free high school hockey game today but stayed home because I recently hurt my back doing my laundry and am too afraid of slipping in the snow we had yesterday. Got a bunch of free Christmas cards (some unsolicited from a charity group & others from someone who dropped them off in our community room) and sent off 2 of them to friends in NY this morning. In fact, someone else dropped off a bunch of crossword puzzle books and a book of late 19th century poetry and I took them. Over the years I have dropped off books when I've finished with them as well.

As for the laptop there is a community organization called PCs For People which sells lappies at low cost and gives discounted ISP. Since I am on Social Security, I qualify for their service.

My medical costs are also reduced as I go to a low cost community health clinic.

See the cheapskate thread for more details.
