.......... some days you're the bug.............
Interesting development in my quest to return to work. As I thought aforehand, when I went for my physical, I would need documentation from my physicians showing I was physically fit to return to my job, after all, t'was heart related. Tis is of no issue, mission accomplished. I also required documentation my hearing was up to standard for commercial vehicle operation, no problem, right? Wrong. There is no test available for individuals with hearing devices. When given a hearing test with such devices, because of "feed back", there is no way to substantiate if the sound you are receiving in your good ear is coming through your hearing device or the natural reaction of your good ear to compensate for the ear suffering hearing loss, or in my case, total deafness. My audiologists decided to send my audio results of my most recent tests , along with the specifications of my hearing devise with me to my DOT physical. We shall see what happens. Stay tuned for another episode in "As the Stethoscope Turns", coming soon; to a theatre near you.
