Yes we are retired in EU, but both were born and raised in Canada, and its still our birthplace and 'home'!
Despite its many, many shortcomings, we have our children and grandchildren still living there as well as brothers, sisters...and still some friends!
We keep up to date on all goings on for their sake, and ours if we ever go back for longer than a visit.
 
I was reading something interesting last night. It was about vaccines. Not that they work or do not work, but taking the position that they do whats intended, a disturbing trend is happening.

So remember a few years back there was a lot of talk on anti-biotic resistant superbugs"? Hospitals around the world reporting about how there is quite a growth of resistant strains of bacteria/infeections that could not be controlled by normal medicines anymore. What normally would be easily treated, now had to use harsher interventions or resisted treatments all together. Then it was figured out that because doctors (over) prescribe medicines for every little thing, that these superbugs became resistant to our interventions. Overuse caused these medicines to not work.

I was reading last night about a doctor in the us who posited it is the same with vaccines. He followed up on 3 of the children who passed away in the US from the measles. He found that 2 of the children had been double vaccinated with the measles, yet still fell ill and sadly succumbed to it. Then he referred to the recent report on Jan 29 by the CDC regarding the Denver airport measles incident in April/May of 2025.

Officials pointed to a Jan. 29 report in the CDC’s quasi-journal that detailed how an unvaccinated person who lives outside of Colorado traveled through the Denver International Airport in 2025 while infectious with measles.
An investigation uncovered nine secondary cases and one tertiary case associated with the traveler’s international flight and time in the airport. Of those 10 cases, five occurred among people who had received two doses of the measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine before exposure, researchers with the CDC and health institutions in Colorado said. One other person may have received a vaccine in the past.

So 6 out of 10 had vaccinations, yet still contracted measles.
So this doctor who believes in vaccines, starting thinking. He theorizes, because so many vaccines are not protecting people from their intended purpose anymore, it could be the superbug all over again. What used to be breakthrough cases where maybe 1 or 2 of 10 individuals got ill, is now 5-6 of 10. He posited that the overuse of vaccines for essentially everything is creating this failure. Essentially we are relying on vaccines to protect us instead of training our immune systems with a real virus.

This got me thinking on when I was a kid, and parents used to send you to 'johnys house' to play with him cause he had something. Parents wanted us exposed to chicken pox or measles or whatever it was 'johny' had. I confirmed this with my mother and my 'baby book' that she still has (embarrassing or cute?). I had both and was never hospitalized at all. She cant remember any of the kids be in any serious health condition with any childhood illnesses!

So back to the research...Its becoming a theory, that because we are taking vaccines for essentially everything, that we are losing our natural immunity to the real form of the 'virus'. Vaccinations are attenuated forms only. So it is either severely weakened version or a dead version of whatever the shot is for. The theory is that we are training our immune system with weak versions of the measles, the flu, chicken pox, hpv, etc, and when we experience the real version our body can't handle it because the only protection people have developed is weakened or dead versions, so people get sick or hospitalized.

Its like we are training people to fight a 125 pound bully, but then a 225 pound bully comes along. Hes a lot stronger, hits harder and is way heavier. If not trained for it...he wins!
The theory is growing because so many failures of vaccines the last 10 years. Flu shot failure rate (or breakthrough rate), is now 40-50 percent. Measles, chicken pox are around the 50 percent as well.

It really doesn't matter if you believe in vaccines or not, that's not the issue anymore. The issue is that drug resistant super bugs are still growing, vaccines are slowly failing their intended purpose. This leads a few researchers to question our over reliance of the medical system. Is it causing these failures? This is a concern for everyone.

In my personal opinion, I don't care what anyone's stance on this is, pro vax/anti vax, trust/dont trust the medical system. I don't think it really matters anymore. The medical system is failing us slowly however unintended, but I think its time people get our biological and physiological houses in order before it completely fails.

This woman is a doctor's assistant. She worked at a vaccination center and advised her son to apply for a job there too. He did it, was asked if he wants to be vaccinated and refused at first. But his mother advised him to get the shot.
The result: He became serious ill to such an extreme extent, that he ultimately asked for assisted suicide. He got it.

The language of this interview is in German, but English subtitles are available. You need only to watch the first 5 minutes and you know what it is all about.

But of course, mRNA shots are completely safe, we all know it. I know that they are fatal. I didn't get any mRNA shots. I'll never get vaccinated anymore. I promise.

I had the superbug MRSA and it spreads quickly ..... people had slowed the use of hand sanitizer and then POOF........ covid put it's use on steroids.
We will see more cases like MRSA and yet people will not make the connection.

Super bug virus will mutate to stay alive and grow...

I am not anti- vaccine but sadly I know many more harmed or dead from vaccine effects........ and I did not know anyone personally who died from Covid.
I feel sorry for the loss that many here have felt in their lives.
Covid will be remembered for the division and how it was handled. Mostly how we disagree instead of learning from the pandemic. The one thing it taught some is how to divide people.

That is not correct.

Majority of the people getting measles in the recent outbreaks were unvaccinated

MMR is a highly effective vaccine and 2 doses covers most people for life.

Also it doesn't matter who got measles. I got measles as a kid, and so did many of my young friends. No one died or was sent to hospital. Getting any illness doesn't mean death! Stop the fear of everything. Before any childhood vaccines most childhood disease were almost non existent anyway. Cleanliness, better medical interventions, better nutrition contributed to most of them being nothing to worry about.

But when science is now seeing vaccines not working as they used to, and think its because of overuse of a dead version instead of the real live versions, people should be listening.
Superbugs became a thing because doctors overprescribed. Maybe using weak/dead ingredients in vaccines was not the right thing to do?

Outright saying we are incorrect and being in denial doesn't make it so!

She claims that the vaccine was discontinued because it was dangerous, which is misleading. It was discontinued because smallpox had basically been eradicated through a massive, globally coordinated vaccination and surveillance effort.

There were medical risks associated with the vaccination, but serious complications resulting in death were rare. Because there was no longer a local threat of disease to justify these known medical risks, routine infant vaccination was halted—first in the UK in 1971 and then in the US in 1972.

I am so happy to have found this thread. Between the loss of my mother, brother and nephew to COVID and being a long hauler myself, I am so angry that...
...I still get ridiculed for wearing a mask
....People don't believe that it is a real disease
...Even Doctor's don't acknowledge the impact on their patients, both physically and psychologically.
I thank everyone of you for your words on this thread, you help make me stronger to continue to fight to prove that not only the disease exists but that it's lethal.
 
All I can say is my mental and physical health was dreadfully affected, my social connections mainly ended. I simply never picked up the social routines again.

Since those times my health has declined and I am sure I have aged much faster. I can't forget how terrifying it all was, the deaths, the arguments, the behaviour and the distrust. I really thought the world was ending. First the fear of catching it then the adverse effects of the vaccines I felt I must take. My immune system has recovered to a certain extent but I am on various medications including very necessary antidepressants. My strength has gone.

I can't believe I came through, I even got the virus but had been vaccinated by then. I feel so deeply for all the people who died or whose health was terribly affected forever.

It's funny how some people had severe adverse side effects from the vaccines and others had barely any. I'm in the latter category. My wife and I both had the Pfizer vaccine and requested Pfizer boosters every time we got our shots since we tolerated them pretty well. I think Moderna was one of the worst ones for bad side effects.

But even with the bad side effects of certain vaccines, it's still better than dying or getting long covid.

A new preprint from general practitioner Dr. Robin Kerr and cardiovascular researcher Harriet Carroll of Lund University proposes that blood clotting in the form of "micro-clotting" is largely responsible for what has come to be known as "long covid."
While micro-clotting may not be the only pathology in those suffering from long covid, it is certainly one of the most notable, according to Etheresia Pretorius, a distinguished research professor who specializes in the study of micro-clotting at Stellenbosch University.

A Lancet study looked at 65 major studies in 19 countries on natural immunity. The researchers concluded that natural immunity was at least as effective as the primary COVID vaccine series.

Cochran Reviews are considered the most authoritative and independent assessment of the evidence in medicine.
And one published last month by a highly respected Oxford research team found that masks had no significant impact on COVID transmission.

The biggest one for me...

A new study1 published by JAMA Network proves that individuals, in this case, young, healthy, male basketball players, who tested positive for COVID-19 but were asymptomatic, did not spread the virus despite being in a closed, isolation “bubble” over a period of months.

Over approximately four months, nearly 4,000 basketball players, staff, and vendors interacted in indoor, unmasked, close contact activities that involved direct exposure between persistent positive cases and noninfected individuals. All the people in the closed environment participated in a regular, supervised testing program. The study concluded that recovered individuals who continued to test positive for SARS-CoV-2 following discontinuation of isolation were not infectious to others.

This one was huge for us. ALways being told you can carry it and give it to others. But one look in a medical book when all that started proved that was a lie.
If you got something, and your body responds and inactivates it, you can not pass it to others. You may have fragments of whatever you had but you are not contagious. This is basic human logic. If I got it but never got sick, my body killed it!
As I have said before our gym was open through out, and no one noticed anyone really not there during the period. And if asymptomatic meant you were a toxic bomb spreading death, I am sure one person had 'it' during that time , so by the super spreader logic we all should have got it, and eventually the gym would have been empty.
The study above and many medical books prove that was absolute garbage.

I don't much care about stats and arguments about it. My mother didn't get vaccinated. She had RA and other health issues. Dr advised her not to take it. She died with and from the Covid. They intubated her and she still died. Shot no shot...lies no lies...it doesn't matter.

What matters is she had Covid and died because of it. It's been 6 yrs. I really wish people would just let it go and accept the fact that people get sick and die no matter what the govt is or isn't doing. No matter what the scientists say or don't say. It's never going away and people are still dying from it.

The statistics do nothing to stop the virus so I don't understand why people are still going on about them.
 
The death rate attributed to the Covid pandemic, runs into telephone numbers. Life is priceless, and the loss of life due to Covid should never be quietly swept under the carpet.

Covid has also probably denied today's young adults a chance to get on the property market. When the reality of the Covid-19 pandemic and news of a national lockdown hit the UK in March 2020 the impact was felt right across the country, not least in the property market.

While the doom and gloom predictions offered by some pundits did not come true, the pandemic still caused substantial disruption to anyone trying to buy or sell a property. Beyond this, the pandemic also altered buyers’ priorities, with many looking to buy in rural areas, rather than the previously dominant cities. Covid-19 caused lasting changes in the property world with these impacts still being felt in the market today.

As an example, the mid-terrace house that I once owned in the East London district of Forest Gate, cost me £3,500 back in 1968. Taking account of inflation that £3,500 today would translate into just under £80,000. But the hoiuse that I owned would sell today, in excess of £400,000. What chance have youngsters got without a legacy or some financial good fortune, of ever buying a home of their own?
