Some male elk in the field at the Oconaluftee Visitors Center

Some elk out in the field during rutting season at the Oconaluftee Visitors Center in Tennessee.We were on out way over to Cherokee,North Carolina when we had came up on the Elk and they were chasing females to the other side of the road.A forest ranger came along and got a blow horn out of the his trunk of his vehicle to chase the male elk back on the other side of the road.

Great photo. We saw many elk when visiting my daughter when she lived in Oregon. We only have deer where I live in New Jersey and one bear who lives peacefully with all of us.
