Some People are Crazy

A chest is OK to look at but a breast OMG that's just not socially acceptable.

The human milk thing I can understand since breast milk is sold. In order to distinguish between milks it makes sense to identify what kind it is.

Here, Mike, here is another pathetic example of change as this screwed up world progresses with its gender neutral baloney!

Our National Anthem here in Canada (NOW).

The House of Commons overwhelmingly passed a private member's bill in 2016 that would alter the national anthem by replacing "in all thy sons command" with "in all of us command" as part of a push to strike gendered language from O Canada.

Thank you for that link Aunt Marg.

Sorry I missed the prior post, for some reason it
is locked, did it become political?

OMG, sorry you are wrong, a breast is socially acceptable if a suckling baby is attached to it.

The breast is not the problem, it’s the exposure of a woman’s NIPPLE that is the problem. So as long as the NIPPLE stays in the baby’s mouth, and is not exposed, it OK. But OMG horrors of horrors of a woman’s NIPPLE might be seen.

But men, men go shirtless all the time, and their NIPPLES hang out there for everyone to see, other men, all ages of woman, all ages of children with no problem at all. Men”s NIPPLES look the same as woman, we know this, cause we all have seen plenty of them.

FAT MEN have LARGE BREAST attached to large NIPPLES and they go shirtless as well. So we are treated to the site of a FAT MAN”s NIPPLES attached to a NIPPLE not attached to a suckling baby; but no one calls foul and the men are not subject to arrest due to NIPPLE exposure. Why not?

My take, it became pointed.
Yes, it did.

Sooo, this is why my husband, from the time of our marriage, was not allowed, yes NOT allowed, to go shirtless unless I could go shirtless, because he could/would expose his NIPPLES, but I had to keep my NIPPLES covered. OMG, I could barely stand to think of my husband walking around with his NIPPLES exposed. The horrors and shame of it all.

I did agreed, however; if he was willing to breast feed our daughter in public, he could expose his man boobs and his NIPPLES. He refused. He’s always been selfish that way, not wanting to share his food or nurse his child in public.

Yes I agree a chest can be nice to look at as long as it is covered, man or woman. Babies should go hungry while a nursing mom keeps her boobs under wraps, cause no one is really sure what’s under another persons clothing, and the site of a breast would be so shocking.

Yes, I agree there are crackpots, but we might disagree on who is a crackpot and who is not. Just saying. My opinions on breastfeeding are, let anyone who wishes to breastfeed, breastfeed, and, yes, men can breastfeed as well.

I never thought of it before, but human-milk makes more consistent sense. After all, we don't call goat or cow milk 'udder milk'.
I don't mind language evolving, and I would love to feel included by changing songs that sing of men when they really mean everybody. Its all very well to tell women that 'men' means both men and women, but I don't feel that is so true. If I had a daughter in the military I'd feel disrespected if the songs only talked about sons.
Its normal to not like change and to resist it, but if it isn't hurting anyone and it is making some people feel better then I would like to be the kind of person who cares that much about how people feel, even if they aren't just like me.

Yes, exactly what society and our world needs, individuals bent on changing the lyrics and names of songs and restricting the naming of new artists releases (songs and album titles) when not aimed at including both genders.

Good grief, Charlie Brown.

The parable of "boiled frog" applies here, in analogy if not reality.

About the language I fear.

The latest is "Chest Feeding", instead of "Breastfeeding",
"Human Milk", instead of "Breast Milk".

I can't decide if it is an attempt to change the language,
or if it is against women somehow, whatever it is, it is a
bit strange, to me.
I'm pretty sure those terms won't be around for long, if they even actually catch on.

Why Not you ask ?

Easy to answer .
For what ever reason men have hairy chests & quite often hair around the nipple. Kinda gross mental image compared to the pink or rose colored no hair surrounding the nipple on a woman.

At least American culture has progressed some what past viewing a woman's ankle isn't seen as obscene any more.

Lots of men shave their chests and around their nipples, and nipples, like people come in all different colors. Also, if it was gross, then women wouldn’t like mens chests, and other men wouldn’t like men’s chests. You are only looking at nipples through YOUR eyes, 😂. @Knight

Ours refers to poets ,singers and famous men now I think of it!

Of course you are right about different colors & what some men do with chest hair. I am pretty limited to what I've seen although I do remember as a teen looking at the pics in National Geographic's of tribal women. I think I'm somewhat safe in limiting my input to what I'm most familiar with & learn that others have valuable input I can think about. Never to old to listen & learn.
