Uh-oh... brace yourself for coming change.Ours refers to poets ,singers and famous men now I think of it!
Give it time and you'll see "men" disappear from it.

Couldn't have said it better, OneEyed!Funny you post about this. My online BFF just went on a FB "tangent" about this same thing! She feels political correctness has just gone too far. In this case, I agree. WTH?! A woman breast feeds her baby. If you are a man, or shall I say were a man and have transformed to a woman, you did not birth a baby. You did not do the ultimate womanly thing. Why rename our gender to placate transgender people? Person? We are all people..."persons"! I'm having a hard enough time with "actor" for everyone instead of actor and actress! I'm damned proud of being a woman. Don't take that away from me.I respect the right of transgender people to be referred to in gender neutral terms, but that need not be inflicted upon everyone else.

I was only being polite fuzzbuddy.Mike. You have it all wrong. You said, "SOME people are crazy." Only SOME?
The parable of "boiled frog" applies here, in analogy if not reality.
Thank you Aunt Marg.Couldn't have said it better, OneEyed!
I find it insulting, too!
Anyone remember peta wanting to rename fish "sea kittens"? I heard that on NPR about late 2009 or early 2010. They often make me shake my head in disbelief. Funny thing, I actually eat a vegan diet.
You are most welcome, OneEyed... the truth is the truth.Thank you Aunt Marg.
