The Elephant grass found in Africa is named so as it is 4.5 meters high and even elephants can hide in it.

Carrots were originally purple in colour.

Leaving the skin on potatoes while cooking is healthier as all the vitamins are in the skin.

Bamboo is the fastest-growing woody plant in the world; it can grow 35 inches in a single day!

A sunflower looks like one large flower, but each head is composed of hundreds of tiny flowers called florets, which ripen to become the seeds!

I know about skin on potatoes, I almost always leve the skin on for that reason.....
I knew about the Great Barrier Reef..

I knew about the carrots being purple..

I thought everyone knew about Bamboo..which is why if you live in an urban area you must never plant it....

Being surrounded by Oak trees I know all about them... ditto the sunflowers

I didn't know however, about the elephant grass... I wonder if that's what they were referrng to when in Oklahoma the musical..they sang about the Corn being as high as an Elephants' eye ! :D
