Some shots from Washington, D.C.

D.C. is one of the most amazing places I've ever been. For me it's mainly due to the architecture. Everywhere you look it's "WOW! Hey, look at that!" ... and, of course, the monuments. Even the subways are cool due to the 'brutalism' design from the 1940s.

It's a reminder that we can do great things when we put our minds to it, or we can cause great destruction, which is all we seem to be able to do any more.

It's been decades since I was first in a D.C. subway, but I was impressed. I even purchased a souvenir book with a picture of the subway, which at the time, was immaculate. D.C. is a cool place. Last time I was there was a couple of years ago when I met a friend and her new found cousins at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Now that place has an interesting design.
