Passing along some pieces from an article in Readers Digest. The computer generated routes are often wrong forcing the drivers to search manually for the address. Amazon uses apps to monitor the employees driving including slamming on brakes even though it is necessary at times. Now they are installing cameras to watch the drivers when they yawn or look at their phones. In a ten hour shift they are expected to cart as many as 400 packages to 250 stops. More than 90 % of the drivers finish before their time is up. The drivers need people to illuminate their addresses of included directions to their homes if they are hard to find. In 2016 -2019 Amazon withheld tips from drivers that use their own vehicles and was fined $621.7 million for doing it. The FTC said Amazon stole nearly one third of the drivers tips to pad their own booty. Many drivers join FedEx to make more part time than full time at Amazon. Most drivers make $15/ hour. I left out the drivers are not permitted to drive in reverse.
