Somehow I managed to block everyone from PM’ing me.

Ok ! I have it working now.
Thanks for your understanding and patience.
I can be a bit on the paranoid and childish side.

The reason why I made this thread was because a good friend of mine thought I had blocked her. I hadn’t knowingly blocked her.
Weeks ago I changed my personal preferences ( not realizing I blocked pM’s( but they didn’t take affect until I shut my phone down which I did a few days ago. I don’t want anyone thinking I’ve blocked them.

Note: she contacted me via personal email

So how do you find out if you've blocked people from PM's? I can't find an indicator.
The only reason I knew is because I gave someone my personal address and they contacted me thinking I had purposely blocked them. Plus I wondered why nobody had PM’ed me in a while. When I looked at my profile I’d clicked everything off. I just forgot I’d done it.

This is part of why the only internet stuff i use on phone are if have to download a multi-media text, or use Google Maps--tho very rarely. Usually i check out my route options ahead of time and make notes i can pull over and consult if daughter not with me. If she's with me she uses the notes to help me navigate tho i usually remember from having written them down.

Other reasons:
i have large hands and arthritic fingers that don't always hit where i aim them on such a small target as a phone.

i just don't feel the need to be constantly 'plugged in' to news, social media etc. Available to my children, grandson and medical offices via phone/text is fine, tho i don't leave my phone on 24/7 unless my son and grandson on way here for visit or on way home. Once i get DD home from work on her work nights, i turn it off.

i don't like the push to do everything via phone, the most easily lost or stolen device.

Hmmm...wonder how that happened Patty. I find it's very easy to inadvertently hit the wrong thing when I'm using my tablet. Glad you got it working again.
About a month ago I got furious and went into my account and clicked off all my personal settings so I wouldn’t get any emails. It only works if you power off your computer and power it back on which I only did a few days ago. I’d asked gruntlabor a question in the category about questions and she couldn’t reply back. Then a friend emailed me outside of this website and that’s when I realized that my actions had finally kicked in.

It made me realize that some people might think I had them on ‘ignore’ but I didn’t. Actually I DID but I had EVERYONE on ignore.😳
I’d forgotten that I’d done it since it was about a month ago.
