Something I do not understand about 72 hour anti-perspirant

Anti-perspirants contain aluminium, which is said to cause breast cancer. I use deodorants, which don't work so well. Women used to wear pads under their arms to soak up the sweat. I can remember my mother's dresses having them inserted. Those and talcum powder seemed to deal with the problem, without causing a danger to health.

I think there are questions about talcum powder these days.

Several years ago, we had a case here in the area where a teenage boy actually died from too much deodorant use.

He was obsessed with "smelling good" and used up to ten cans of spray deodorant per day to cover his entire body.

His parents were planning to sue the deodorant companies for his death. I have to wonder why they thought him going through so much product was OK.

Edit: I tried to find the case for more details, but couldn't but I did find articles about several other cases in which young people died doing this.
