Something strange is going on out there.

No need to say that the past few years have been ones of anger, hate, even violence. But in the past week, several different times, people who have been touchy for a while have suddenly become Very Nice. Text messages with heart emojis, surprising Thank Yous, that sort of thing, from people I thought were semi-ghosting me, to the point where I wondered if I had the wrong person on the other end.

Maybe because it's Spring? Sun shining, birds chirping? Have more people stopped reading the news? A few people with whom I have contact seem much happier these days. Is the pendulum swinging back? Dare I hope?

Have you noticed this in your life?

Disclaimer: This is Kate being goofy Kate, 🤭 but have you recently come into a large sum of money? 🤑💰💵

not you but people seem fickle anymore, being nice one moment and then not so much.
I find it with some if they are bored or lonely or in need of something all of a sudden, I become popular again.
Sad that I look for ulterior motives now.
Well, true. One of these people did recently come back into my life in her time of need.

I simply mentioned to one person in general conversation that I noticed soft drinks in the refrigerated section at Walmart cost $2.34 each. She said, "Oh that is so trivial. If you want one, just get it and stop complaining." Doesn't sound too "nice" to me. I was just making conversation, but when people react that way, all it does is sharply reduce the amount of conversation I have with them.

I have not really noticed a change in peoples moods.
It sure would be nice if people would have patience, understanding, tolerance, and respect for each other.

I asked my Mother one time, "How can people be so cruel to another person."
She said, "Some people are just evil."

Smile, it will make you feel better.

Keep On The Sunny Side

It's not optimistic. I don't know what the universe thrives on, but it isn't going to let you off so easily. It will screw with you so very much more. Just my opinion.

PS all the small animals in your neighborhood are mad at you; you should probably stay inside.

My sister and I did begin speaking again after 20 years, maybe something to this.
Plus actually agreeing and laughing about our past misunderstandings.
@MACKTEXAS your soda story reminded me of this one: Began dating a guy, 1st date.
Stop for gas and he asked if I'd like a soda. I said yes please and the type.
He comes back with the biggest cup they sell and said, "I figure we can share this on the drive."
I looked at it and out of my mouth popped "I haven't even been inclined to kiss you yet, why
would I want to swallow your drippings?"
For some reason he never asked me out again
Nothing hinted at on your post, just a memory that flashed as I read yours.

No way. That's so rude. Crazy expensive by the way. In the grocery store here they are also more expensive cooled. A normal one is 30 cents and one from the fridge 1,25. I already thought that was crazy, but 2.34 is even crazier.

You put out what you hope to get back. Maybe you yourself are being more upbeat so your circle responds in kind.

Thank you!! I needed that.

I took Max to the vet this after noon. On the way home, in relatively heavy traffic, a woman on a bicycle was riding in the traffic lane -- blocking traffic. And she wasn't riding fast to minimize her obstructionism; she looked like she was intentionally riding really slow just to inconvenience drivers. I really wanted to run her off the road, but my wife told me to calm down.

Then, turning into my side street, this idiot in a Jeep was just creeping around the corner for some reason, causing a backup on the main street.

God, I wish I could still drink alcohol. Life is tough without it.

I've noticed it in customer service. At least on the phone. People are nicer. They actually help.
Hope it catches on.
