Sometimes, I just "get a craving" (for this food item)...

The humble...Macaroni&Cheese.

I think of it as 'comfort food'
Had the first of the Fall..creamy-cheesy! 😉?
It’s no longer that humble when you look at the cost. I made that for the base of a lunch for guests today. $15+ for the cheddar cheeses. I can’t find Gruyère here which would have been much more costly is what the recipe called for. Cream for the sauce, even on sale, $4. The box of cavatappi pasta was $5. Etc, etc. Bottom line - they loved it.

Lately, it's been pasta with home made tomato sauce. Coming later.
Home made tomato sauce & home made marinara sauce from the same batch. Since we got a deal going with a local Latino market we've been making our own. The market can't give away the tomatoes for whatever reason so we pay for the ones no longer saleable. The market displays roma tomatoes in a gigantic open shelf. As you might imagine many are bruised. Those cost us 5 cents a lb. typically we get 15 to 20lbs. Sounds like a lot but boiled down it isn't.

Craving home made pasta with home made tomato sauce along with home made bread for garlic bread.
