Sometimes one needs to face reality and do what is right for them.

I'm normally in a wheelchair, but I can only walk very short distances, and can't stand long. I don't know why, but in the US, they make bathroom doors smaller than other doors in the home. Wheelchairs won't fit through them. So, I need one to get into the bathroom. I have to use a one for short distances. You have to admit you are not18 anymore, so what's worse- a little hit to your ego, or a broken hip.

When you get tired of the walker Pappy, you can always go to a motorized scooter ....
iu

People around my senior complex with them think they are at the race track !! ... I'm not kidding.
Always have to be on the lookout for crazy drivers... they like to race each other.

Management has sent out notices for them to grow up and behave .... lol

I have a cheaper 4 wheeler, my second, and a two wheeler that I use to take in the car because it folds much better.
Hint, if you are new to these machines, check the knobs and any of the tightening wheels often. They loosen up with use.
And the folding handles on the 2 wheelers loosen up too. The ones with the blue levers much easier to use if you have any hands problems. I’m on my second 4 wheeler.. a wheel just up and fell off the first one, and I can’t replace it without having to get the whole leg assembly.
If you use your 2 wheeler a lot tennis balls don’t last long. Look for the ski type “skids”

We have 4 walkers and 3 mobility scooters. They all get used, DH uses the small scooter to go out to the mail boxes, and around the outside of our home. The other two we call our senior recreation vehicles, we go out and about the area. Our newest walker is a Rollator,it is quite the walker with the place for arms and hands. The first time we saw one was a few years ago it was 1000 bucks, so DH did some altering on a walker for me. A few years later and the price was down to under 300. Since it is adjustable, either one of us can use it. Needing some help with walking is actually to be expected as we age, no shame.
