A bot is a robotic computer that scans hundreds of web sites, looking for content that it has been programed to find. The bot can be owned by a company , or a person. JimB.

Yikes, this is moving faster than I thought.
Soon will be Elon's flying cars since it is no longer on gasoline.
Anyway now all the White House will be reporting from Mars if Atom has anything to do with it.
News for the day the President has a reaction to planet Earth to all the people still living there and still being taxed.
What a way with this Atom and Elon together working it all out in their favor.

We got a weather warm up (high 70's F today!) so I'm out in the yard. Next week it may snow AGAIN and I'll be on more. I'm sure it is the same with a lot of folks who have seasonal changes. With all the old posts and a very broad search engine here, something of interest is sure to be found in the archives. I don't have an issue with old posts being revived. Then again, (personally) - sometimes I just get "peopled-out" and need to isolate. There may be others like me.

They need to index/store/analyze as much online content as possible to build a better search. We all search a lot and want the best result.
 
I'm on several "senior" sites, and this lack of participation/interest has been noted the other sites too. I'm sure the owners/admin folks track the activity levels since that is, I gather, how they get paid.

What I see is that it only takes a small group of folks with some extreme point of view to more or less ruin a site. Every thread becomes a battle ground about their issue, what ever it is, and dissenting voices are quickly silenced. So, I just quit visiting that site for a while, and I guess I'm not alone.

This may or may not be the issue with this site at this time. YMMV

How my wife and I love being out with good friends. We are lucky enough to be part of a gregarious social circle that enjoys music and fashions from a bygone era.

Covid has struck at many, thankfully we haven't lost anyone to this modern day plague but the side effect of staying in has caused what some describe as, cabin fever. Of late we have been out more than in, ( see here, scroll down to #11380) so, sorry if you think that I might have lost interest, it's simply resuming the social life before Covid.

I had thought that 5he old postscript deleted to give space to up-to-date contact information on the thoughts from one and all.
Matrix is the boss nowadays
