Sometimes you just feel old

I think it kind of puts the cashier in an awkward position to ask if you're older than (whatever their requirement is for senior discount) so they give it to customers anyway. I can see where some testy persons might yell at the cashier if they're not senior citizen age and they're given a discount. It takes all kinds.
I think you're right. I've automatically been given the senior discount at the movie theater a few times and taken umbrage but didn't say anything. (I texted my daughters in outrage a couple of times, though, ha ha.) The age for the discount is 65, and I just turned 58. But I think it's likely what you said, @TeePee. At least, that makes me feel better. ;)

All three times it happened was for the Met Opera broadcast, so maybe they figure everyone that goes to that is 65+. 🤷🏻‍♀️

In the Uk no-one give anything automatically..in the way of discounts of any type... we always have to ask for them. I have friends who are way past the age of entitlement but refuse to ask for a discount, because they don't want to let people know they're old ...:ROFLMAO:
