I had the Irish freckles when young I used to hear Grandpa singing this oneThere was a little girl
With a tiny little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead
And when she was good
She was very, very good
And when she was bad
She was horrid
That is a very precious memory! My big sisters used to sing this to me.
Lily is my given name.

My mother, who was Hungarian---Dad was Irish/Welsh, would sing both this and "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" to me. She had a beautiful voice. On a serious note Grt-Granny would hold me in her lap before I was sent to bed
and sing this for me.
