My son went to Ireland a couple years ago and did a little research on my heritage. He said he's pretty sure my dad was Scotch-Irish, but Irish heritage is usually impossible to trace back accurately. I love bagpipe music, regardless.I'm Scottish Born and raised...I hate the bagpipes....*arrggghh****
Does that cut to your soul, Mur, or does that cut to your soul?
People think it's odd that I can get a little choked up when I hear bagpipes, but it happens sometimes.Does that cut to your soul, Mur, or does that cut to your soul?
Absolutely beautiful.
Flowers of the Forest, got to me at the very start.People think it's odd that I can get a little choked up when I hear bagpipes, but it happens sometimes.
Here's one that's a little different, though...a little more fun.
Yeah, classic Celtic bagpipe music in particular is mostly about connecting with nature. family, and fellows. I guess that comes through for me.Flowers of the Forest, got to me at the very start.
For those of us who understand the bagpipes and appreciate them, it's not odd for people to get emotional, at least I don't find it odd.
It was explained to me by a piper that it is a dirge for the clansmen lost at the Battle of Culleden Moor.Flowers of the Forest, got to me at the very start.

I am Scottish born and bred to Scottish parents and Irish grandparents...who made their way to Scotland during the Irish potato famine ..I've found where my grandparents came from in Ireland and where they first arrived in Scotland...
Very interesting. It was explained to me by a piper that it is a dirge for the clansmen lost at the Battle of Culleden Moor.
I have been there and seen the monument to the clans.
