South Wales Coal Trains-early seventies.

Do you still live near there , Furry ?... is it all built on now?...what about the railway crossing is that still there ?

We have a lot of railway crossings here.. I used to love watching steam trains travel through.. still do on the very odd occasion we see one..

There is a group of 9 narrow gauge railways called. "The Great Little trains of Wales". When I was there I rode 8 of the 9 and loved it. The only reason I did not ride the 9th was because it was far away from where I was staying.
The one I enjoyed the most was the Vale of Rheidol Railway. It ran along the top of hills, looking down at a beautiful green river valley.

i know the Talywain area at the beginning of the video because my grandparents lived there.
i have no idea what is under the arch now but the railways have gone.By the roadside where my grandad used to board the little train that took him to mine there were a couple of benches last time i went past.
And i think one of the engines in the film is at the Big Pit mining museum in Blaenafon, just up the road.
There was a railway that went over the Arch.Think it’s a cycleway now.
As for the rest i have no idea!
