Sovereign Nation Enterprise

Reading a report on msn.com recently, it appears that the native American tribes here in Oregon are going to capitalize on their 'sovereign' nation status they signed away may pay off in the future. One nation that most of their members live in poverty has now decided to manufacture & sell 'weed' in their newly constructed 36,000 sq ft green house. They hadn't been able to sponsor a casino because of their location, & like most tribal casinos that are turnkey operation who do not return the type of investment income they were led to believe. The cannabis operation will employ tribal members making an in demand product. I say 'good for them' I hope it makes them all millionaires.

Confused about the word, "manufacture," since it is cannabis plants they are growing in their greenhouse. Yeah, I say good for anyone who can make a go in the cannabis industry. It's not the easiest--at least here where we have only Medical Marijuana and the laws are very limiting to growers, providers and patients.

From Merriam-Webster dictionary Since the act to produce a sellable bag of weed is mostly done by hand, clipping, trimming & bagging (packaging) it I thought it was an appropriate definition. I thought that growing MJ was pretty straight forward myself but you can't get a marketable high from the 'male' plant & only the 'flowers' have enough THC to make them profitable so you have to 'manufacture' your product.

Full Definition of manufacture

1: something made from raw materials by hand or by machinery

2: the process of making wares by hand or by machinery especially when carried on systematically with division of labor b : a productive industry using mechanical power and machinery

3: the act or process of producing something
