I can remember being at work the morning that the tragic Challenger disaster happened......hard to believe that it's already been 33 years.

We were living in Alaska at the time and I heard about it on the radio on my way in to work.

We were living in Huntsville Alabama at the time. I remember seeing it on TV, and like Pappy I just simply couldn't take it in, couldn't believe it happened. I kept expecting that there'd be another news alert that they were found floating in the ocean, alive and OK, that they'd somehow escaped that explosion. It was a very pollyanna view, but the disaster was incomprehensible to me.

I lived in Illinois at the time and watched it live....couldn’t believe my eyes!

I also remember the look on the face of the parents of the teacher ....they didn’t realize what just happened at that moment.

Its always sad when a launch goes bad and astronauts die but this was extra tragic in my opinion because it was civilians.

It just seemed unbelievable that something like that could/would happen.

That brings back 'bad' memories for me. I worked at the N Utah company that produced the solid rocket boosters, knew Al Mcdonald in passing. I had just gotten off 'grave' & gone to bed when my wife come in & said, 'Maybe you'd better come see what's happened'.

I was at work when it happened. Somebody called in and said what was going on so we all rushed into the conference room to watch the coverage on the TV in there.
