Spectrum dropped 2 more channels (that I'm aware)

I went to watch the SYFY channel yesterday and found it has been dropped from my service tier along with E!. No notice of this. Of course, I can opt for a more expensive tier, but I'm already paying almost $300 a month now. For the few channels I do watch, I figure it isn't worth it. I basically only need TV as a sleep aid, but it has to be a channel with certain content.
Also cable bill going up another $10 a month. Seems like almost all non-OTA channels will eventually be moved to a more expensive package or just dropped. It may be a move to get customers to switch to Xumo rather than the traditional receiver. The last time I had a tech here, he said they are phasing out the old cable boxes and replacing them with Xumo. Another technology to get used to!

Did you not have a thread about this recently?
Non profitable systems are being outphased. This technology is unfortunately a dino. Maybe Matrix can combine the threads to make it easier.

$300 a month for TV service is ridiculous. What service are you subscribed too? We've had Fiber TV, supplied by our electric co-op for the past 5 or 6 years, but they are ending their service at the end of June, so we went back to satellite TV. Both Dish and Direct TV have virtually the same packages...ranging from $80 a month to $130/month...so we went back to Dish, and it's about $30/month less than we were paying for fiber service. Now, Dish has a service that will stream thru the Internet/wifi if a severe storm impacts the satellite reception. so we should no longer lose service during a big thunderstorm. If you are paying such a high price, you might be wise to shop around.
Plus, with a service called "dish anywhere". which is part of our package, I can watch TV on my computer, which is what I'm doing now;

I went from Spectrum Select to Spectrum Choice. It's their cheapest package. I thought it would be only about $149 a month. But I forgot their sneaky little one year promotion scam. So it will be closer to $180 in July. But then after I did switch to a cheaper package, they jacked the rates up $6 more a month. Worst cable company I ever had, and the most dishonest.

My bill for cable is $312. per month. Have HBO and Starz movies which I don't watch. This is the only bill my son pays for. He knows TV makes me happy. I never asked him to do this. When he lived at home, he always paid for cable. When he left home to get married, he continued to pay. It was about half the amount then. He uses the Max app based on this subscription.

This is ridiculous!

We’ve covered this before but I just couldn’t bring myself to spend that kind of money for television entertainment.

I’m more than content with free AirTV and my $27.00 Consumer Cellular phone plan.

My Spectrum WiFi and a very basic cable package are included in my rent but I disconnected the cable in favor of antenna television.

The WiFi is extremely helpful in keeping my iPhone data charges within the Consumer Cellular telephone plan limits.

Same. I got rid of cable TV after my ex left. Eight years now and I still don’t miss it. Some people really need it though, especially if they live alone. Need to hear the voices.
Well, there are continuously-running "channels" on streaming services like PlutoTV (free).

Like soaps? Westerns? Game shows? Light comedy films? They have a lot of choices.

Here is my last cable statement:

So you pay 257 not almost 300. That is 500 per year or two months of existing services.

Youy have been with Spectrum forever and accepted price increases. I would take the time and research other providers in your area first. then contact Spectrum customer service and speak with "escalation" aka "retention" to get those charges knocked know.

We use the fasted internet ATT offers at 52.28. Once a year it takes a very firm conversation.
