Sphere Opens in Las Vegas

Fantastic.

It's interesting living in Las Vegas — a city where the main income-earner is drawing people in from everywhere for entertainment.

Where, at least when we were there, the main powerful union was the Culinary union. No food, no feeding people in the hotels.

Interesting, eh? At least, I thought it was.

WOW!!!!

Sphere was designed by Populous, the global architecture firm behind many of the world's top sports arenas. Construction costs, inflated by the pandemic, have climbed to $2.3 billion – more than Sphere's glitziest Vegas neighbors, including the Bellagio and Allegiant Stadium.

WOW!!!!

It’s absolutely incredible, in the usual way over the top Vegas style.
LOL, yes over the top.....I first thought, I hope it's not near a major freeway, people would be distracted and crash....but wait....most everything out there is a distraction.. lol...I haven't been to Las Vegas in a while, but used to enjoy the 'distractions'....for just a few days.

So somebody projected an animated screen saver, like we used to have on our computers, onto a larger more rounded screen.

I guess it's cool.

Like everything else today, they found a way to make it cheaper.

I was pretty impressed by the Bellagio Fountain.

WELCOME TO SIN CITY

It’s going to have concerts. The kind that have very expensive tickets. The first indoors shows are expected in September.

, Sphere’s 580,000 square foot fully-programmable LED exterior – the largest LED screen on earth
The Exosphere consists of approximately 1.2 million LED pucks, spaced eight inches apart. Each puck contains 48 individual LED diodes, with each diode capable of displaying 256 million different colors – creating a vivid new landmark on the Las Vegas skyline.
