Spider in the Kitchen Sink

That is a jumping spider. If it seems he can't crawl out of the sink, give him a boost. He'll thank you by patrolling for pests.

Do you have a basement? I thought you posted a picture of some water heater pipes you were having troubles with and it looked like they were in a basement sort of setting. Could you scoop it up and relocate it to the basement maybe? I bet that it wouldn't be the only one down there. But spiders, like people, come from parents. So it's possible that a whole family lives in your home and you've only seen the one unfortunate enough to end up in your sink.

I'm with Blessed on that. Hot water and down the drain, if it is too big, hot water and a dust pan to take him out the door. Our son was bitten by a spider while he was asleep..........the infection was terrible, and fortunately he survived, but the infection ran around his butt and around the front of him where he wouldn't show me.

I found a strange creature crawling across the kitchen floor earlier. At first I thought it was a giant tick but it's probably just a spider. I put it outside.

It was still in the sink this morning, so I scooped it up and relocated it to a pot of cactus in a room I don't go in very much. Now it's the creature's business what happens to it. It is a jumping spider and I can attest to when trying to catch it. That thing could jump 3 inches! It was like trying to catch a kangaroo rat.

Might be an alien spider, just hope it didn't lay eggs inside the house.

Even though I'm in SoCal it's still chilly- we're at 4000 ft. elevation and overnight temps in the low 30s F./ daytime mid 40s~low 50s.

Everything will die eventually by the natural process. I just don't want to be the agent hurrying it along. Some people might say, "Well, you eat meat, don't you?" Yes, I do sometimes, but it is from animals already slaughtered in which I had no part. Also, the meat might be wasted otherwise which would be a bigger wrong.
