If you have this condition, or something similar, have you found anything that helps relieve the pins and needle feelings? ( Mine in on the back of my neck and down a little ways. )

I've been 'Tramadol 50 mg.' twice to three times a day depending on Pain I experiencing. I have Scoliosis along with some back pain. For me, Tramadol is 'live-saver' not to feel pain to a little bit pain. Downside is 'nightmare' during the sleep, so I need to take during day to avoid those 'scaring dreams' which often waking me up in the middle of the night. Also, according to my Geartric Dr., Tramadol causing some conspitation for which I've been two different meds. to counteract. So far so good.

My late husband had spinal stenosis in 2021. He thought it was arthritis in his hips but an MRI showed SS at C4/C5. He had laser surgery and he was fine. He was almost completely bent over and couldn't walk before he had surgery.
Well this caught my attention, I've been experiencing hip pain increasingly, in recent times. I need to insist on a back exam, something that Kaiser Permanente seems reluctant to do, if they think they can avoid it.

I have 12 50mg Tramadol pills per month. That is not enough. As this is progressive I will request about twice as many in early August. It does seem to work some.

I agree, you need more dosage as having read the pain you've been experiencing. In my recollection on Tramadol, Orth Dr. put me a minimum dosage, but as time went by, I requested more dosage, three(3) 50 mg. Tramadol. One thing I can remember, it was not easy to take Tramadol, starting a bit here and there and increased a current dosages. The Orth. do. rx'ed only 20 days as being 'nacotic' nature med. So, I need to make a trip CVS often, but it's worth for the pain I have.

Yow Hi, I’m a health care specialist and I actually have solution for yall.

Are you on Medicare ?

Could this be because you live in a "backwards" state? Pardon me for putting it that way, it's still early in the morning.

I had no trouble getting hydrocodone when tramadol didn't work. I wouldn't be surprised if I run into trouble eventually, but NY State is obviously more sophisticated re: these type drugs than Missouri.

Yea, it is backwards, and I try to stay as far away as possible. As far as asking my primary for hydrocodone, that would not due. We had a convo about this, and she was going to be my "Pain doc"...that is a joke but a real one...even pain docs in Missouri have to be extra careful with any narcotics. Drug prevention is a big money maker here.

We are starting to become the DisUnited States of America when it comes to healthcare. This is all so frightening. Doctors must step up. I believe they should be sued for not fighting for their patients. Malpractice. Especially when it comes to fearing for their licences over the needs of their patients. Fight this Fight on all fronts, IMO. Patients should be demanding proper care on every level.

The Medical Institution is much harder to influence than the Government. They have like 10 billion dollars' worth of high class lawyers and corrupt judges. I know the Gov. does to...but at least the Gov. sometimes acts like it is listening to us. The Medical stuff is beyond our control, and of course this all goes to the Pharmaceutical Industry. Corporations hand out what they want, not what we need.

Along with Tramadol, I apply Voltaren(pain cream) on the area of pain, mostly left leg. which occurs during sleep, around 4 a.m to 5 a.m. I rub it vigorously and massage the pain area for about 10 to 15 minutes. It's really annoying to say the least, but I accept my problem of Scoliosis which mostly radiates left let. The pain is extremely painful, sometimes paralyzes, not only left-leg but my whole body. Then, Tramadol is 'life-saver' for me not getting an extreme pain. :)

We have a tube of Diclofenac, the active ingredient in Voltaren. Thanks for the suggestion.
I will try it today. :)

I had this condition 3 years ago and started using a Dr. Ho type TENS unit and started doing certain yoga stretches.

I believe it was caused by a pinched nerve. It took a few weeks of using my tens unit and doing these certain stretches to help but help it certainly did.

Now I swim and walk cause I hurt my arm but don’t have this problem any more.

What is a TENS unit? I saw a picture of one but don't understand how they work. Do you use it like a massage type thing?

My spinal stenosis caused extreme sciatica. Had surgery, did rehab and had another 15 good years relatively pain free.
It's very interesting. It must be a tremendous relief not having pain any longer. Mine, Scoliosis is very similar to Sciatica pain. As for the surgery, my Ortho.dr. has not mentioned it. Probably my advanced age.
Just wonder when the surgery took place, ... appears to me in your late '50s or early '60s?
