Spirit? Will it win in the end?

I mean human spirit. Spirit has nothing to do with any organized religion. It is that spark inside us all that makes some of us motivated to climb mount Everest, just because. The forefathers of my country had it in spades. They challenged authority and fought the greatest army on the planet at that time and won. Albert Einstein's visions split the atom. Spirit cannot be measured. It cannot be controlled or quelled. It is a force stronger than AI and any of the weapons authoritarians might try to throw at us.

Will spirit set us free in the end? IDK. I hope so. AI is a program in a way and follows patterns or algorithms. Human spirit is everything that is unpredictable and unstoppable. This is its greatest asset.

Yes, The "spirit" aka "the soul" of the individual is in the absolute, unmanifested, eternal state of Being,
which is the ultimate reality of existence and the essential constituent of creation; whereas the mind
is in the relative state which is on a gross, ever-changing , transient field of existence.
The "Being" is the ultimate reality of all existence in the most subtle level and this perception transcends
thought from the mind. One could say this is our individual connection with "God".
 

I don't think it's purely a "human spirit", but a living spirit. While Gael sees "spirit" in a religious context, I think of it in a different context, as a vitality and lust for life. I think all living things have some degree of it. In my area, there are lots of developments, and deer live in the woods between them. I have deer in my yard, now. During hunting season, the deer, in the woods, know those things in the orange vests kill; it spooks them, so deer tend to stay right next to the developments, where they are safer. To me, it's pretty much the same vitality and lust for life as humans.

YES! I believe our very existence is about refining our spirit. We are part of universal consciousness . Our bodies are just the vehicles we use to experience our existence and are temporary. We have no choice but to move on to new dimensions to fulfill our spirits ultimate goal - to be part of Godly consciousness or pure love!
( not religious Godly )
 
I don't pray to any diety but I surely pray you are right, chic. In line with my thinking of We Will Rise-AGAIN. Power to the People.

I know. Power to the people - right on! Whatever happened to that? How did we go from that level of enlightenment to where we are now? :unsure:

We had children and we did not teach them well. They were born into no conflict, no challenges; they thought their freedoms, which were earned For them, not By them, would last forever. Complacent, that's the word I'm looking for.

As for what happened to our generation---well, that would take a long time to consider. I have ideas.
 
Funny you posted a topic about spirit. I left Christianity because of the lies and misguided messages it incurred. They say ignorance is bliss, I see now what I refused to see before.

That said, I was happy and content with my head in the clouds, what is wrong with living in the clouds as long as you are happy?

I cannot go back to my former state of acceptance and understanding because I am not be who I was and move forward.

I used to see beauty in the world and in people, this is my quest. I want to open my heart and mind to the possibilities of any and all things. I used to be highly empathetic, absorbing pain and negative energy from people are hurting. When I started having health problems I channeled my healing energies inward for survival, now I am ready to reach out to people and creation. as a strong contributor to life and the wellbeing of it all. Essentially everything exists, sharing self, for the sake of self and all things. Spirituality is about everything and everyone. When you are aware you understand.
