@Fritz & @dobielvr, I've seen them too. @Nathan, like you I'm careful like you in what I do. My husband doesn't believe, but he says he doesn't because he hasn't experienced it for himself. Once you experience it, then you'll understand.
We are all made up of energy. Energy cannot be destroyed, but changes from one form into another. Where does that energy goes after we die? I believe it most cases it moves on to another place, but with others it remains in our realm for whatever reason.
