So why didn't the kid go get the ball that was 15 feet away and almost if not, in 67 year old woman's hands? If several folks are trying to catch a ball and an adult catches it while a kid is jumping up trying to get it, then the ball should go to the kid, that is courtesy. Here’s the rule: the ball (or hat) always goes to the kid. Always. Phillie Karen has been excoriated on social media, so Karma’s a b***h.
Also there was a man in a blue shirt that was also reaching for the ball, the 67 year old lady was bent over and eye witnesses says she had her finger tips on it, and then this HERO dad that saw it land, walks over and takes it. How did anyone take it from the kid? When the 67 year old lady went over and confronted the dad, the dad gave it to her, knowing he was wrong. The dad was the one that took the ball back from his son.
This 67 year old lady didn't SNATCH the ball from a kids hands, that is a lie and meant to cause internet sensation. I don't side with thieves and that is what this dad is. A real dad would have helped the old lady, 67, a senior citizen, by giving her the ball. I suspect the guy in blue was trying to help her get it.
Hopefully the kid has a decent sound minded honest mother that will counteract his dads, don't earn it or ask for it, son, steal it even if you have to take it from an old lady.
So the kid gets a signed bat from the hitter of the home run, and father and son get on shows to tell their tale of a mean old lady taking a ball from a kid on his birthday and they are made victims by the media. Where is the compassion for the 67 year old lady that was lucky enough to have a home run ball land nearest her? I can understand her anger and impatience with spoiled entitled people like the dad that thought he could just go get it, even thought 3 other people were closer and reaching for it. Once again a break down in respect and common sense.
