Spygate Olympic soccer. Cananda flew drones over New Zealand team

Do we file this post with the Men's Argentina vs Morocco match, with the disallowed Argentina equalizing goal, chaos on the field at the end that basically had the teams come back to the field 2 hours later to play the last minute of the game?

When professional athletes were allowed to participate in them in 1986, they became a different event. The commercialization entered and has basically dominated the events. Fun fact: In ancient Greece the participants were all males and competed naked.

I'm totally at a loss to know what does anyone gain from sabotaging or spying, on the Olympics. I'm obviously thick as a brick when it comes to this.. can someone explain?

It sounds like a sensationalized account of poor judgement by a couple of lower level members of the coaching/administrative staff.

It sounds like drones may need to be added to the list of banned equipment, substances, etc…

I don't really follow soccer, but I learned about this spying on Canadian TV news. It's a big disappointment among avid Canadian sports fans. Sentiment expressed in this country is, overwhelmingly, shame & opprobrium.
It sure is.
